The writing program I mentioned is <a href="http://hogbaysoftware.com/projects/writeroom" rel="nofollow">Writeroom</a>, which is available from Hogbay Software</a>. (I didn't mention it on the podcast, but as a bonus, Hogbay also makes a nice, simple todo list program called <a href="http://hogbaysoftware.com/projects/taskpaper" rel="nofollow">Task Paper</a>). Dan mentioned a program that hides his menu bar in Mac OS X. There a couple of these, but the one I have used is called <a href="http://www.nullriver.com/index/products/" rel="nofollow">MenuShade</a>. Dan also mentioned a Mac product that blacks or grays out your screen except for the active window; I think he was talking about <a href="http://johnhaney.com/backdrop/" rel="nofollow">Backdrop</a>.
